Let's be honest: 2020 was an unforgettable year, but not in a good way. We think we're all super glad last year is over and done with. Life still hasn't returned back to normal (will it ever? What is normal??), but at Popcorn Shed we like to look at the positive things in life. That's why we've compiled a list of things we can be grateful for in 2021.

1. The support of fellow popcorn lovers
If there's something we are very thankful for, it's the support of you all, our customers. We wouldn't be where we are now if it wasn't for your orders, feedback, reviews and lovely messages and photos. Your continued support throughout all of last year and in 2021 means the world to us!

2. New opportunities
Last year, a lot of shops had to close because of COVID-19. Though we were sad to see this happening and it drastically reduced our availability in shops all over the UK and beyond, this did mean people started shopping online much more than before the pandemic. We took this opportunity to focus on our web shop and digital marketing strategies, and luckily that paid off very well for us. For us, this feels like a kick-start for 2021 in which we want to continue growing as an online business and expand our product range with more tasty treats!

3. Our newly found appreciation for 'normal' things
2020 made us realise how many things we see as normal and take for granted. Seeing friends for coffee, hugging your grandmother, eating out on the weekends, being able to go on a holiday and so much more! Now, we feel lucky if we can go out for a coffee break together in the middle of a long day at the office. We won't take that for granted ever again!

4. The sense of community
As a small start up business, networking and finding new companies to work with or venues to sell our products is crucial to grow. Last year we realised we are all in the same boat, and that we can only get through this together! We love our small business community and have made a lot of new business friends and connections last year, for which we are incredibly grateful now. The same goes for our personal lives. Having family and friends to rely on is all that counts. So send your grandmother a lovely card, drop off some biscuits (or popcorn!) at the neighbour's and tell your parents or friends how much they mean to you. Kindness goes a long way :)

5. That we have eachother
One thing we all realised last year, is the importance of family and friends around you who love you, help you, make you feel less alone and whom you can trust. As a family business, we are incredibly happy to have eachother, especially now.
