Father's day is around the corner (18th June) and we have the perfect Father’s day bake for you.
You can’t beat a summer meringue nest! Especially a crisp-chewy meringue base, with popcorn on top! Yummy!
Makes | 1 large meringue nest
Preparation time | 20 minutes
Baking time | 2 hours
400g egg whites
200g caster sugar
Golden Syrup/Maple Syrup
1 shed of Pecan pie popcorn
Handful of whole pecans for decoration
Preheat oven to 100C.
Whisk egg whites until they form white peaks.
Slowly add spoonfuls of sugar while eggs are being whisked at full speed.
Spoon the mixture onto parchment paper in a ‘nest’ shape.
Put into preheated oven and bake for approximately 2 hours.
You will know the meringue is ready when it can be easily lifted off the parchment paper.
Once cooled add Popcorn Shed’s Pecan Pie gourmet popcorn onto the nest area at the top.
You can add extra toppings such as golden syrup, maple syrup, cream and pecans!
Serve up and enjoy!
